Board games are a great way to add some fun to your toddler's schedule. Not only are they a great way to spend time together, they also offer many other great benefits for their development. Board games are a great way to teach pre-school kids focus and patience. They help develop vocabulary, number and color recognition, counting, and fine motor skills. Most of the board games I listed below may be introduced as early as 18 months with parent supervision and by 2-2.5 years old, your child will have a great grasp of the full concept. I included some of our favorite board games below that are perfect and easy to understand for toddlers and yet are still fun for older kids as well, making them a fun family activity.

Children have so many toys these days that you just don't know what to gift them for their milestone birthdays. Board games make great gifts for 1st Birthday as parents will be equipped with fun games and introduce them to their toddler as soon as they feel they are ready.  These are perfect for 2nd and 3rd birthday milestones as toddlers reach the age when they begin to grasp the concept of the games. The actual recommended age on some of these are 3 and 4 years old but rest assured that you can introduce these much earlier with your supervision. For other gift ideas and tips on pregnancies, babies, toddlers, and children, check out my other blogs here
